Brock & Katie’s Bryn Du Mansion Wedding

Bryn Du Mansion, Granville, Ohio

I could use so many words to describe Brock and Katie’s day…beautiful, sweet and sentimental emotions, elegant, classy, gorgeous, and so many more! They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” so I’ll allow the pictures to tell you the story of their day with a few added tidbits here and there! Brock carved his wedding band out of deer antler! What a unique idea! Katie’s dad, Tom, got a special “first look” moment with Katie.  Before he entered the room to see Katie, he asked to see the first love of his life…Kathleen, his wife. They exchanged a kiss and then went into the room to see Katie. So sweet! As you look at these pictures I hope you can feel the loving and tear-filled emotions felt during these moments…truly special. Katie had written a letter to each of her parents and then they took a few moments to pray with Katie.  Brock and Katie’s first look took place in the formal garden of the mansion grounds. Brock wanted to watch Katie as she walked “down the aisle.” Brock’s mischievous side came out a bit when he wore his sunglasses for the beginning of their first look (he didn’t think Katie would want him to have sunglasses on! 🙂 ) He then slipped them off for the WOW moment as he watched Katie walk toward him!  This little guy kept fluttering up to us, so we had to oblige and snap a few pictures of him, too!  Katie surprised Brock by wearing a “blusher veil” over her face as she walked down the aisle. The tears flowed in this beautiful moment. Katie’s beautiful veil was made by Brock’s mom, Judy!  In the two pictures below you’ll see a little smirk and giggles…Brock had asked the pastor to change Katie’s vows a bit to say something about promising to give a massage everyday!! As you can see Katie was surprised! 🙂 Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Yutzy!!

Special thanks to Deborah of DG Photography for joining me for the day and second shooting.

Wedding: Joshua & Lexington

Josh and Lexi’s c and reception took place at Lexi’s home. The setting was absolutely lovely and all through the day not a detail was missed…simply beautiful!! Josh and Lexi designed their own invitations and stamps!!  Such a sweet “first look” with dad.  Josh and Lexi’s first look! Earlier when I mentioned everything took place at Lexi’s home I didn’t mentioned ALL the beautiful settings on the grounds! A pond, meadow with Queen Anne’s lace, weeping willow tree, and a bridge…to mention a few! AND Lexi’s dad built all of the white benches for the ceremony!   Guests were asked to sign or leave a special message for Josh and Lexi in a Bible. Lexi’s grandparents played the violin and harmonica for Josh and Lexi’s first dance.

Special thanks to Emilee of Emilee Hope Photography for second shooting Josh and Lexi’s day with me.

Joshua and Laura’s Dublin Wedding

Dublin, Ohio

If I were to describe Josh and Laura’s day in a few words they would be classy, elegant and stunning. While Josh and Laura currently live near New York city, they both grew up in Ohio and met at The Ohio State University, so their big day brought them back to their roots!

Congratulations, Josh and Laura! Thank you for trusting me to photograph your beautiful day!

Thank you to Deborah of DG Photography for second shooting Josh and Laura’s wedding with me.

Lucas & Ashley’s Choctaw Lake Wedding

Choctaw Lake, London Ohio

Lucas and Ashley tied the knot on a beautiful, sunny and fairly hot day in August. Their lakeside ceremony was a gorgeous setting with the occasional boat passerby to add to the interest of the scenery!

Allow me to tell you the story of their day through memories captured in the form of pictures…

As the reception neared the end we decided to take a walk to the lake and capture a few more pictures as the sun was setting. Lucas and Ashley took off their shoes and stepped in the cool water…it felt oh-so-good!!!

Thank you to Andrew of Andrew E. Weber Photography for second shooting with me for Lucas and Ashley’s wedding.

Wedding: Aaron & Megan

Hickory Lane Farms

I love when weddings have details that hold unique sentiment to the couple.  This was true for Aaron and Megan’s wedding. All throughout the day you could see the special touches unique to them! For instance, the reception took place at Megan’s home…the same place where her parents got married! Before I give too much away, allow me to share the story of their day through a few of their wedding pictures…If rings had a story to tell it would be these!! The story began when Aaron and Meg got engaged in Ireland. Aaron’s wedding band is hand crafted from Ireland. The marble is from the Connemara National Park where he proposed to Meg! The inner part of the ring is made from an old Irish penny. Another material used to make the ring was Irish bog oak (an ancient oak tree that has been buried and preserved in a peat bog for hundreds to thousands of year. Yeah, I had to look that up!😉) Interestingly enough, right before Aaron proposed to Meg she fell in a bog! Meg’s ring is a vintage-style floral ring, because she loves all things vintage! Aaron and Meg exchanged love letters to each other. Meg took a few minutes to read hers before getting ready at her parent’s home.  A piece from her grandma’s favorite blouse was cut in a heart and sewn into her wedding dress.  Meg gave Aaron a watch. Carved on the back it said, “Meet me at the altar at 12:30.” The first look! All of Aaron and Meg’s wedding portraits were taken at her parents farm, Hickory Lane Farms Nursery & Landscaping. Such a beautiful setting! The sun was super bright and honestly, the temperature was REALLY hot! But a few romantic shots with the bright sunlight and meadow setting were called for! Go ahead and count them!! 🙂 Yep…12 girls, 12 guys, two children, and the bride and groom!! They win the prize for the largest bridal party I’ve ever photographed! Aaron and Megan are two VERY LOVED people! “Going to the chapel and we’re going to get married!” The bridal party rode on this trailer to and from the church! Notice the “Farmersonly.com” sign! 🙂 Instead of a unity candle Aaron and Meg had a unity tree. They poured dirt on the tree from their childhood homes.  Notice in the picture above Meg is wiping her tears. What are you supposed to do with the tissue when you’re done? Well, you stuff it in your new husband’s pocket, obviously! (See below!) After the ceremony we took the time for a few boat pictures and I’m SO glad we did! The reception took place in the farm barn. I know for a fact, Megan worked HARD to make it look like an elegant venue…and she did it! There were so, SO many details all around!! Everywhere you looked was something special! Everyone was invited to take a tree home to plant! Such a neat idea! As they drove off down the lane, it only seems fitting to end with “Happily ever after!”

Special thanks to Deborah of DG Photography for second shooting for me, and to Emilee of Emily Hope Photography for assisting.

Logan & Erin’s Wren Farm Wedding

Logan and Erin’s day…a special couple, beautiful celebration, and lovely setting!

Their day took place at the beautiful Wren Farm in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. A heart cut from a piece of her dad’s clothing was sewn into Erin’s wedding dress. Erin wore her grandma’s lace bolero jacket. It was so elegant! First look! Erin’s grandmas got a special first look with the bride! The sun was very bright and it was quite hot during the ceremony. The pastor prayed that a little shade would come…a few minutes later a cloud floated by for a bit of relief! I love how God takes care of every detail! Logan and Erin had a unity tree. The dirt they poured on the tree came from their childhood homes. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Hostetler!! We ended the evening taking a few pictures as the sun set. It wasn’t the brightest or most brilliant sunset, but they still have some sweet pictures as husband and wife!

Thank you to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography for second shooting for me.

Alex & Kara’s Lightning Tree Barn Wedding

Circleville, Ohio

Alex and Kara tied the knot a few weeks ago! People from numerous states across the country traveled to celebrate with them on their super hot and joy-filled day!  Here’s a little peek into their love story and the story of their day…

Alex and Kara met in Philadelphia and on their first coffee date chatting and relating with each other came easy. Kara shared that she wanted the theme of their day to be “bathed in prayer.” What a great way to start your marriage!  Kara gave Alex this tie clip. Inscribed on the back it says, “I get to love you 5.27.18” Their first dance as husband and wife was to the song “I get to love you” by Ruelle. Currently, they call Philly home while Alex continues his studies to become a Podiatrist.  Alex was originally from Tennessee and Kara from Ohio, so a wedding in Circleville, Ohio at Lightning Tree Barn was the setting of their big day.First look! Kara, you’re stunning!! Different shoes you may ask? Here’s the story…while they were dating Kara was training for a marathon and Alex couldn’t neglect his studies. The solution? Kara would run and Alex would ride his bike a few miles ahead, sit down to study and then when Kara would make it to him he’d be there ready with water! Sounds like a pretty good break to me! So…if they’re runners we might as well take a few running pictures, right?!! Ceremony time!  If you were in Ohio over Memorial Day weekend, you may remember the 90 degree weather we had that weekend. Yep…the second story of the barn was beautiful, but a bit toasty. 🙂 I wish someone would have taken the exact temperature, but my guess would be at least 105ish! Alex and Kara washed each other’s feet during their ceremony. Jesus also washed His disciples’ feet as an example of love and being a servant of all in John 13:1-17. For Alex and Kara it was a symbol of putting the other first, love and devotion. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Pilkinton! Kara’s friends have passed the & symbol pictured below from wedding to wedding. It’s been painted a different color for each wedding and Kara had to carry on the tradition!

Thank you to Andrew Weber of Andrew E. Weber Photography for second shooting Alex and Kara’s wedding with me.

Thaddeus & Cherie’s Wedding, Plain City Ohio

Thad and Cherie’s May wedding day was filled with smiles and beauty. Seriously, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a bride smile as much as Cherie! Here’s the story of their day in pictures…

Our day began at Cherie’s house. The peonies were blooming outside and complimented Cherie’s colors beautifully! The first look took place beside the Little Darby Creek, which just happens to be in Thad’s backyard.  It’s such a lovely setting! As a surprise gift to Thad, Cherie gave him the journal she’d been keeping over the time they were dating.  It was a hot and sunny day, and even a little bit buggy with the pesky insects down by the creek. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve seen so many people swatting at bugs during pictures. Haha! But that didn’t dampen the joy of the day!  The ceremony and reception took place at United Bethel Mennonite Church in Plain City, Ohio.  The original plan was to have the reception by the creek at Thad’s home, but due to a rainy weather forecast the reception was brought indoors. It was a good move, because we would have gotten rained on! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Eichorn!!

Special thanks to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography (also Cherie’s cousin!) for second shooting. As always, she’s amazing!
