Josh and Laura’s Downtown Columbus Engagement

Scioto Mile ~ Schiller Park ~ Winans Chocolates, Columbus, Ohio

I love, love, LOVED Josha and Laura’s engagement session! It took place the very end of March, so it was still a bit chilly and windy, but we came up with the perfect mix of outdoor/indoor settings AND to top it off we happened across some blossoming trees to add to the beauty! Now we’re looking forward to their August wedding!

Winans Chocolates, Coffees, and Wines was the perfect spot to warm up a bit. Such a classy setting for these pictures of Josh and Laura…it fit them perfectly!

Logan & Erin’s Wren Farm Wedding

Logan and Erin’s day…a special couple, beautiful celebration, and lovely setting!

Their day took place at the beautiful Wren Farm in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. A heart cut from a piece of her dad’s clothing was sewn into Erin’s wedding dress. Erin wore her grandma’s lace bolero jacket. It was so elegant! First look! Erin’s grandmas got a special first look with the bride! The sun was very bright and it was quite hot during the ceremony. The pastor prayed that a little shade would come…a few minutes later a cloud floated by for a bit of relief! I love how God takes care of every detail! Logan and Erin had a unity tree. The dirt they poured on the tree came from their childhood homes. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Hostetler!! We ended the evening taking a few pictures as the sun set. It wasn’t the brightest or most brilliant sunset, but they still have some sweet pictures as husband and wife!

Thank you to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography for second shooting for me.

Alex & Kara’s Lightning Tree Barn Wedding

Circleville, Ohio

Alex and Kara tied the knot a few weeks ago! People from numerous states across the country traveled to celebrate with them on their super hot and joy-filled day!  Here’s a little peek into their love story and the story of their day…

Alex and Kara met in Philadelphia and on their first coffee date chatting and relating with each other came easy. Kara shared that she wanted the theme of their day to be “bathed in prayer.” What a great way to start your marriage!  Kara gave Alex this tie clip. Inscribed on the back it says, “I get to love you 5.27.18” Their first dance as husband and wife was to the song “I get to love you” by Ruelle. Currently, they call Philly home while Alex continues his studies to become a Podiatrist.  Alex was originally from Tennessee and Kara from Ohio, so a wedding in Circleville, Ohio at Lightning Tree Barn was the setting of their big day.First look! Kara, you’re stunning!! Different shoes you may ask? Here’s the story…while they were dating Kara was training for a marathon and Alex couldn’t neglect his studies. The solution? Kara would run and Alex would ride his bike a few miles ahead, sit down to study and then when Kara would make it to him he’d be there ready with water! Sounds like a pretty good break to me! So…if they’re runners we might as well take a few running pictures, right?!! Ceremony time!  If you were in Ohio over Memorial Day weekend, you may remember the 90 degree weather we had that weekend. Yep…the second story of the barn was beautiful, but a bit toasty. 🙂 I wish someone would have taken the exact temperature, but my guess would be at least 105ish! Alex and Kara washed each other’s feet during their ceremony. Jesus also washed His disciples’ feet as an example of love and being a servant of all in John 13:1-17. For Alex and Kara it was a symbol of putting the other first, love and devotion. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Pilkinton! Kara’s friends have passed the & symbol pictured below from wedding to wedding. It’s been painted a different color for each wedding and Kara had to carry on the tradition!

Thank you to Andrew Weber of Andrew E. Weber Photography for second shooting Alex and Kara’s wedding with me.

Thaddeus & Cherie’s Wedding, Plain City Ohio

Thad and Cherie’s May wedding day was filled with smiles and beauty. Seriously, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a bride smile as much as Cherie! Here’s the story of their day in pictures…

Our day began at Cherie’s house. The peonies were blooming outside and complimented Cherie’s colors beautifully! The first look took place beside the Little Darby Creek, which just happens to be in Thad’s backyard.  It’s such a lovely setting! As a surprise gift to Thad, Cherie gave him the journal she’d been keeping over the time they were dating.  It was a hot and sunny day, and even a little bit buggy with the pesky insects down by the creek. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve seen so many people swatting at bugs during pictures. Haha! But that didn’t dampen the joy of the day!  The ceremony and reception took place at United Bethel Mennonite Church in Plain City, Ohio.  The original plan was to have the reception by the creek at Thad’s home, but due to a rainy weather forecast the reception was brought indoors. It was a good move, because we would have gotten rained on! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Eichorn!!

Special thanks to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography (also Cherie’s cousin!) for second shooting. As always, she’s amazing!

Engagement: Alex & Noel

Creekside Gahanna and Everal Barn

Alex and Noel’s engagement session took place on a perfect spring evening! The sun glowed beautifully on Noel’s long blonde hair! Fun fact: both Alex and Noel took their senior portraits at Creekside Gahanna, so they thought it’d be fun to use the same location together. We also made a stop at Everal Barn; such a unique and eye-catching barn. We’re all looking forward to their September, 2018 wedding! Congratulations, Alex and Noel!
