Wedding: Joel & Anndra
{Kalona, Iowa}
Joel and Ann had a beautiful spring day for their wedding. The ceremony took place at a quaint, re-finished barn off of a dirt road in Iowa. They had a small, intimate ceremony with immediate family and close friends. Following the ceremony, family and friends joined the celebration at a reception in Iowa and then two weeks later at a reception in Joel’s hometown of Ohio.
Special thanks to Summer Schrock of Summer Alisabeth Photography for second shooting for me! If you’re from Iowa and looking for a photographer be sure to look up Summer! It was a pleasure to get to know Summer. She has a great eye for photography!
Wedding: Grant and Lindsay
Davenport, Iowa
Grant and Lindsay’s day began early in the morning before sunrise on a cold, January day in Iowa. Although it was the dead of winter it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Just enough snow on the ground to accent their pictures, early morning frost, gorgeous sunshine rays, and a bride and groom who were fabulous to work with! Seriously, Lindsay was one of the most laid-back brides I’ve ever seen! For example, her dress got a bit dirty during pictures, but she didn’t let it bother her…it was super cold (in the 20s), but she was a trooper and took occasional breaks to warm up (don’t miss the picture below where Lindsay is warming her toes! ;)) It was evident that Grant and Lindsay’s desire for their day was that it bring glory to God, and they enjoyed it to the fullest!
It was a pleasure to have my niece, Joy Smoker, second shoot for Grant and Lindsay’s wedding..she was a wonderful help! This was a “destination” wedding for Joy (from Pennsylvania) and me (from Ohio!) Thanks, Joy, for making the trip with me and to my hubby for driving!! 😉
Wedding: Evan & Amanda
Evan and Amanda’s mid-September wedding fell on a very bright and sunny day, which was perfect for their plans of an outdoor reception.
The reception was simply beautiful…beside the Little Darby Creek where Evan grew up. The details and decor were unique to the setting…a canoe to hold the gifts, large tree stumps as the entryway, and the natural tree canopy provided by the woods with lights strung throughout. Here’s a little glimpse into their day…
Special thanks to Joy Smoker for second shooting for Evan and Amanda’s wedding.
Amanda’s hair and makeup were done by Belle Cherie ~ Styles by Janelle. She looked beautiful!
Wedding: Mike & Sarah
Mike and Sarah had an absolutely beautiful wedding…not a detail was missed! When I think of words to describe their day a few that come to mind are: elegant, simple beauty, and country. I’ll allow the pictures to tell the story of their day…
Thank you to Sarah Elizabeth for assisting me and second shooting for Mike and Sarah’s wedding.
Wedding: John & Lyndsey
This blog post is in loving memory of Lyndsey’s father who passed away nine days after the wedding, John Warden Redding, 05.20.47 – 08.25.14. Our love and prayers are with the Redding family.
Thank you to Deborah of DG Photography for being my second shooter for John and Lyndsey’s wedding!
Wedding: John & Sammy
John and Sammy’s day was RED, WHITE, & BEAUTIFUL! Their fun-loving personalities and love for life were evident throughout the day. Jorgensen Farms was a lovely location and the perfect rustic/country setting for their day.
It was clearly the hand of God that held off the rain for John and Sammy’s ceremony! Dark clouds were looming, the ceremony wrapped up, we snapped a few family pictures, and literally after stepping into the reception barn it POURED! Thank you, God! Then a rainbow, God’s symbol of a promise, shown beautifully in the sky!
Special thanks to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography for second shooting for me! Your eye for detail completes the package!
The beautiful flowers were done by Doreen Toman of Olive Branch Floral and Interior Design.
Wedding: Drew & Brittany
Drew and Brittany’s day was filled with love, fun, family and friends. Drew and Brittany were so organized and didn’t miss a detail! Here’s the story of their day in pictures…
Brittany’s hair and makeup were done at her house. I love seeing her expression when her tiara was put on for the first time!
Months before the wedding Drew and Brittany had wrote letter to each other that were not to be read until the big day!
It was easy to see that family is important to Drew and Brittany. Brittany’s grandmothers were her flowers girls…aren’t they the cutest flowers girls you’ve ever seen! 😉
Oh, beautiful Brittany…twirling in your princess dress!
Don’t forget Drew…he didn’t want to miss out on the twirling either!
The reception was held at Brookeshire in Delaware, Ohio. Purple and orange colors were used to beautifully decorate the venue. Even the candy bar had all sorts of sweet treats in purple and orange.
Drew and Brittany, it was truly a pleasure to be a part of your day! I so enjoyed getting to know you over the last year. You are a great couple and I wish you the best and the Lord’s blessing on your marriage.
Special thanks to Deborah Beachy of DG Photography for second shooting for me for the day! As always, it was a great!
Wedding: Scott & Brooke
Scott and Brooke are MARRIED!! Their day took place on a beautiful day in June. They chose to take their portraits beneath the Bridge Street bridge in Dublin, Ohio. I could try to explain all of the details from their day, but as they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” so I’ll let the pictures give you a glimpse into the “story” of their day.
Special thanks to Sarah Elizabeth Morgan for being my second shooter for Scott and Brooke’s wedding.
Wedding: Jeff & Sarah
Indian Lake and Hardin County Armory, Kenton, Ohio
High school sweethearts, Jeff and Sarah, tied the knot on a beautiful spring day in April. The ceremony took place at St. Mary of the Woods in Russells Point, Ohio. I could sense the charm of the quaint, home-town feel and the lovely mix of elegance and country.
Along the way to the reception we made a couple stops for pictures. The first stop, took place where it all began…Indian Lake High School. Then we stopped at a covered bridge in the country…this is where I began to realize we were in Amish country when a very small, horse-drawn wagon drove by hauling 16 people!
The reception took place at the “castle-like” Hardin County Armory in Kenton, Ohio. It was a very nice venue and provided for some unique and beautiful pictures. The food was catered by an Amish family, and my oh my, you should have seen the spread…complete with fried chicken and roast beef! Yum!
Jeff and Sarah, may the Lord bless your marriage with His joy and many years to continue growing together! Blessings!
Thank you to Sarah Elizabeth for assisting me for the day.
