September 2017
Senior: Destiny
Class of 2018
Destiny was so much fun to photograph! Her session had so many unique “looks,” and you can’t help but swoon over her cuteness and beauty!
The first stop of her session was clearly a God-led moment. We had already left to start her session in Columbus, and while driving along Destiny and her mom started talking about how they used to go to Columbus every week, get books at the library, and then spend time in the topiary gardens. After the idea popped in their minds, we quickly got off the highway to head to the gardens! It was so fitting to take pictures of Destiny in a place that holds so many dear memories to them. AND the sun was shining brightly and literally made Destiny glow!
Then we hopped over to Jeffrey Mansion… Destiny’s hometown of London put the final touch on her session. Destiny wanted to do a friends picture…what a fun group and special support for Destiny!

Wedding: Sam & Lindsay
Every wedding is unique and regardless of how much time you spend preparing for the day there’s just some things that can’t be planned…like the weather, for instance. Yes, Sam and Lindsay’s day had some rain, but let me tell you, it absolutely did not dampen the joy of the day! In fact, Lindsay should write a tutorial for all brides on how to roll with the day! She was such a trooper, and even allowed us to snap a few shots under an umbrella with the drizzling rain before the ceremony!!! You see, Sam and Lindsay were focused on the real meaning of their day, and during their Christ-centered ceremony it was so evident that they want to serve God in this new step of their lives…together.
Allow me to walk you through their day…
For Lindsay, the day began at the quaint Hearthstone Manor, where she and her girls got ready.
Then we were off to meet Sam at the Urbana Christian Conference Center, where the ceremony and reception would take place.
Side note: I was so impressed with this venue. The layout of the facility was great and the staff worked hard and professionally to flip the ceremony/reception room. But what amazed me the most was to learn that the staff who worked and catered the event were people from the church! What a wonderful example of the body of Christ working together! Sam and Lindsay’s first look! Drizzling rain…but it didn’t faze this couple! Sure, let’s take a few pictures with an umbrella! Sam and Lindsay wanted to leave the reception in a hot air balloon, but sadly the rain didn’t allow for lift off. However, the very gracious balloonists of Mid-Ohio Balloon Adventures still blew their balloon up for a few pictures and a little hop across the yard ride for Sam and Lindsay, and get this…it was really raining at the time! Now that’s a lot of balloon to dry off!! After their skip across the grass in the balloon, Sam and Lindsay ran through their bubble exit and on their way as Mr. & Mrs. Koenig!!! Congratulations to you both!

Senior: Andy
Class of 2018
Andy is a senior at Jonathan Alder High School. He comes from a family that loves music, so it only seems fitting that music would also be in his blood! The high school Marching Band and Show Choir are his thing…in fact he even has a silver cord on his band uniform for leadership. In the future Andy hopes to pursue music production! Isn’t that cool?!
Andy, many blessings to you as you serve God with the talents He’s given you!
Andy wanted to take pictures with his uncle’s restored 1973 Nova. Pretty cool ride!
Senior: Kamryn
“She’s an old soul with young eyes, a vintage heart, and a beautiful mind.” N. Lyons
Kamryn was a jewel to photograph! Her session was so uniquely pieced together! Kamryn loves the 1950s era, so for the first part of her session she wore a vintage dress that was found at a thrift store and get this…it still had the Lazarus tag in it! (For those who aren’t old enough to remember the Lazarus stores, it’s what the Macy’s stores in Columbus used to be!)
Notice the cool old cars?!! You know, God cares about each and every detail of our lives…He even takes the little details and pieces them together to bless us, bless others in our paths, and bring glory to Him. This is what happened when Kamryn and her mom happened to be driving past a place with an old car for sale. They dropped by and asked the gentleman if he would allow Kamryn to take some senior pictures with his car, and he said sure! Their time spent visiting with this man allowed for him to share about his journey of losing his wife to cancer and the possible adventures ahead in his future. I believe God allowed their paths to cross…for a caring, listening ear…for the sweet blessing of fun senior pictures…and maybe in ways we’ll never know, but ultimately to help point our eyes to God by showing us He cares. The gentleman graciously allowed us to use three of his cars for pictures and a cool jukebox! He also surprised Kamryn by giving her a piece of his wife’s jewelry in loving memory. Kamryn is a senior at Dublin Jerome High School and she plans to attend Cedarville University next fall. She’s outgoing, caring, funny, and loves writing and yoga!
Can we all agree that Kamryn can pretty much rock any outfit she wears?!?! I mean seriously, she pulled off completely different styles in true model fashion! I love how these pictures taken in downtown Columbus turned out! The steam, the skyline, the sunset….ooooh yeah!!!
Engagement: Brock & Katie
I love engagement sessions! There’s love, sweet romance, happiness, and an anticipation of their wedding day knowing that taking these pictures are another step closer to their big day! I often tell couples I want them to feel like they’re on a date, and I encourage them to relate with each other and feel free to move in the moment. From my vantage point behind the camera this seemed easy for Brock and Katie…it was sweet to watch them together!
Brock and Katie chose to use a country setting for their engagement session, which was gorgeous as the sun shone brightly throughout most of the evening! In some of the pictures you’ll see an antique Model D John Deere tractor. This tractor is from Brock’s grandpa Yutzy’s collection and hold a special significance to them, because after they get married they will be living on the family farm where Brock grew up and will continue farming.
Now for a bit of Brock and Katie’s story….
When asked where they met this is what I found out… “Good question,” said Brock. “I don’t know. Just mutual friends I guess. Church, school? It just kind of happened.”
Katie shared, “We met because of mutual friends I think, but I remember just knowing of him for a while. He went to Shekinah Christian School where some of my youth group friends went and he coached my little brother, Sam, in Junior High basketball. But it wasn’t until our mutual friend talked to us both about each other that I really considered liking him. He got my number and we had our first real conversation at a graduation party a couple days later, and the rest is history!” Brock, how would you describe Katie? “Katie is fun going, on fire for the Lord in a way I can only dream to be, very artistic, and has a compassion for others.” Katie, how would you describe Brock? “Brock is one of the hardest workers I know. He is patient (which is why he drives so slow, like a grandpa), has a passion for what he loves, and is great at mentoring younger guys.” Brock and Katie are planing a July, 2018 wedding! I so happy for them, and am looking forward to photographing the memories of their wedding day!
Senior: Rachel
Class of 2018
Rachel is a senior at Fairbanks High School. If you would ask her friends to describe her, I’m pretty sure they’d say she’s caring, helpful, supportive, kind, and determined! All of which will help her in pursuing her desire to be a pediatric nurse after high school. I love getting to know the people in front of my camera, and I can vouch that Rachel’s sweetness was obvious! In fact, she shared that one day she hopes to travel the world and help people in need. Wow! I think we need more Rachels in this world!
Enjoy your senior year, Rachel! And blessings as you continue to use your caring spirit to touch people’s lives!
